For factory equipped Vanagons. Modern Compressor ready for environmentally friendly 134A Freon. We add a New Receiver Dryer, and adapt the Vanagons existing hoses. High Performance Clutch System $255
A heavy duty clutch is highly recommend due to the increased performance of your 1.8T engine and will last longer than a standard Vanagon clutch. 

 

Performance ECU Chip $749***
This Performance ECU Chip will increase your power from stock 180hp & 174 ft.lb. to 209hp and 242ft.lb of torque. Huge increase in power. Add Enhanced 2.5″ SS Exhaust system and your putting out approx. 240hp and 250ft.lb. of torque. Now that's power! With no harm to this strong engine and still keeping your fuel economy high! (depending on your driving habits)

Anti-Theft system $285***
When activated your ECU will not allow anyone to start the engine by cutting Fuel Injector Pulse and also Ignition (spark). Engine will not start. By inputting a private code you can activate and de-activate this system. As much money as we have invested in our Vanagons this system helps keep your dollars where you parked it!

Rebuilt Transmission with a taller 4th gear $2,399
Changing the 4th gear to a lower gear is  like having an overdrive. With the extra power now this gear change works very well. This is not required with this 1.8T conversion, as your Vanagon transmission will handle the extra power of your new 1.8T engine and the 1.8T's red line is 6500. If your transmission has never been rebuilt, and you have high miles, it would be a good idea to have it rebuilt at the time of an engine replacement. This goes for any engine replacement regardless of power increase, or in general...

 

Raised Deck Lid Storage Compartments - No Charge
To keep the transmission in the stock position as your original engine when installed we needed to raise the deck lid about 1.5".  Due to this there is no ground clearance lost for Syncro Vanagons and very slight for 2wd Vanagons. The cool part is we have come up with storage compartments to make up for this "loss".  I call this a gain :)  Can't have enough storage areas. Our customers have made up for this raised lid (if you have a bed) by adding memory foam to the bench side when setting up your bed.
